Student pictures proofs will be sent home with all students today. Please return your order to school by 11/6/25 or order online anytime! If you would like retakes, or your child missed picture day, the photographer will be here again on November 13. If your child is getting retakes, please make sure that their teacher is aware.

The schedule for our Thanksgiving Lunch that will take place on November 19th is as follows. We are so thankful for the enormous response that we have had for this event. Since we have had such a great response, we are currently at capacity. This is a RSVP only event and we will not be able to sell tickets at the door.

Mamie Lou Gross is having a Thanksgiving Food Drive! We are collecting canned goods and non-perishable items to be distributed to local families. Donations will be accepted from 10/28/25 to 11/6/25. We appreciate your support!

Our Harvest Hoedown will be Thursday, November 13th from 3:30pm-4:30pm. Tickets are $6 per student. All permission slips and money are due to the front office by Thursday, November 6th.

MLG PAWS will be doing face painting for students on Friday 10/31 between 8:00am-8:25am. This will be in celebration of the Florida Georgia game and jersey day. Students can choose between blue, orange, red, black or white. Face painting will cost $1.

We are so proud to celebrate our TOP READERS from each grade level! These students have shown incredible dedication, focus, and a true love for reading. They've turned pages, explored new worlds, and inspired others along the way. Congratulations to our top readers from Kindergarten - Bryson Gibbs, First Grade - Anna Grace Gatch, Second Grade - Nathan Lynn, Third Grade - Ellie Agee, Fourth Grade - Emory Waters, Fifth Grade - Nicole Engel, and Fifth Grade - Hailey Hamer. The Bulldog Running Club is starting the year strong with their October Timed Run! The winners from each grade level were:
3rd grade - John Calas & Blake Ballard
4th grade - Jayce Gatch & Peyton Ballard
5th grade - Jordan Guinn & Nicole Engel
The Bulldog Running Club meets twice a month after school. Students in grades 3-5 are allowed to participate.

PAWS would like to invite all students to bring an artificial pumpkin decorated as a book character to school to be displayed the week of October 27th. Pumpkins will be voted on with tickets during lunch. Students will be able to purchase these tickets for $1 each morning in the rotunda from 8 to 8:25 in the morning beginning Monday, October 27 through Thursday, October 30. The pumpkin with the most tickets on October 31 for each grade level will win a school store coupon and be announced on the morning announcements. All pumpkins must be artificial.

Our Thanksgiving Lunch will take place on Wednesday, November 19th. All forms and money are due to the Front Office by Monday, October 27th. A schedule of the lunch times will be sent out as we get closer to the date of the event.

The CCSO CHAMPS program is an educational and safety program for youth, developed by the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, that teaches students about issues such as substance abuse, violence prevention, and making informed decisions. We are grateful to the CCSO for providing this program to many of our students across Camden County Schools!
Come support our CHAMPS program at Huey Magoos on Monday, 10 27 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. With every purchase 10% will come back to the Camden County Sheriff's Office CHAMPS program!

The MLG Fall Carnival was a huge success! Families came out to enjoy the bounce houses, see the adorable animals, and play games with the teachers! Please make sure to visit our Facebook page for all of the photos taken at this fun family activity! We would also like to extend a huge "THANK YOU" to our many supporters who helped make this event possible, including the Sheriff's Office and the SMMS FFA.

All third-grade students received their very own dictionaries today thanks to a generous donation from the Kiwanis Club! We want to extend our gratitude to all Kiwanis members, especially Mrs. Cheryl Aston, for their dedication to helping our students learn and grow.

Red Ribbon Week is coming soon! This year's theme is "Life is a puzzle. Solve it drug-free!" During the week of October 27 - October 31, we are asking students and staff to participate in the following dress-up days. Monday 10/27 - Wear Red - Mark out drugs! Tuesday 10/28 - Twin Day - Find the Missing Piece. Wednesday 10/29 - 70s Day - Peace Out to Drugs. Thursday, October 30 - Western Day - Give Drugs the Boot! Friday, October 31 - Sports Day - Team Up Against Drugs.
